Hospitality

Submitted by Zack on May 3, 2010 – 11:35 amNo Comment

As Taco Day 5 (our annual Phoenix experiment in hospitality & generosity) rolls around this weekend, I’ve been trying to take time and space to reflect on the theme of hospitality.  The following quote by Henri Nouwen in his book, Reaching Out, has been central to my reflection thus far,

“Hospitality means primarily the creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.”

May we each be more intentional about creating these types of spaces.
